John Lennon Revolution - Analysis

The song Revolution by John Lennon has a very similar meaning to the song Imagine. I believe that the only real difference between the two songs is that Imagine is more of a vision of what Lennon wants the world to be in the future, where as Revolution is more of a vision of what Lennon see
In the second verse Lennon is trying to portray that someone, possibly being the government, has a plan to fix everything and that the people of the world would love to see it. That the government wants the people to make more or better contributions but that everyone is doing the best they can. In the last few lines of the second verse Lennon says that if the government wants more money from the people and if all their money is going to a government that doesn’t share the same peaceful solution as the people then its going to take a long time to come to a solution.
In the last verse Lennon again talks about the government and makes a comparison between Constitution of Rights and a mental institution. Lennon talks about the people wanting the government to change the constitution, one that I assume represents the Constitution of Rights. Lennon makes fun of the government more or less calling the government a mental institution. Lennon says at the end of the song that if the government goes around listening and carrying pictures of Chairman Mao, that they are all doomed anyways.
s the world as now. In the first verse Lennon is comparing the words revolution to evolution. Although both words look and sound some-what similar the meanings are opposite. Revolution is more of a complete change that is very rapid, where evolution is a complete change that takes a long amount of time. At the end of the first verse Lennon talks about everyone wanting to change the world but that we can change the world without having to completely destruct it.

John Lennon Imagine - Analysis

The concept of this song is a very easy one to grasp. The song Imagine is simply about that. Its about Lennons vision of all the world living together as one, and having nothing to fight over because all of humanity would share it. In the first verse Lennon talks about imagining that theres no heaven or hell, and what only exists is just the sky we see. That all the people in the world dont have to worry or stress about what happened yesterday or tomorrow, just whats happening today and right now. In the second verse Lennon again talks about the dream of living together as one, that there is no countries to fight and go to war over. That there is no religion to say is wrong and to try and change, and for everything to be peaceful. In the last verse Lennon imagines the world as having no possessions to again fight over or to keep for ourselves. That there is no hunger and that everyone comes together to help one another, and there is nothing but happiness and sharing. The chorus is the only thing that has some kind of difference or reality to it. In the chorus Lennon is recognizing that he is a dreamer, and that although he may not be the only one its a nice dream to have and a nice hope for the future.

Shakespeare Sonnet 23 - Analysis

This sonnet to me was a little harder to understand then sonnet number two. After reading the entirety of the sonnet it is evident that he is describing someone who is so in love that hes nervous and scared. In lines three and four the emotion and theme seems to change, but what I think Shakespeare was trying to do is to portray a comparison. He is describing something that shows too much anger or rage on the outside, but because of all the strength it takes to be angry it ends up weakening his own heart. Later in lines seven and eight Shakespeare comes back to make another comparison with lines three and four. Like the man in the sonnet was the thing with too much rage and that the strength of love breaks him down, and he is changed by the burden of his own loves might. In lines ten, eleven and twelve Shakespeare gets more in-depth with how the man in the sonnet feels about love or about a particular person. He is simply trying to say, Dont listen to dumb people or people of no knowledge, but listen to me and the words of my heart. Those people are begging and longing to find love and look for ways of compensation, and Im speaking words that can never truly show how deeply I feel for you. The overall emotion that I believe is shown throughout this sonnet is the feeling of longing and the overwhelming emotion of love.

Shakespeare Sonnet 2 - Analysis

I believe that the meaning of this sonnet is that life to this man is to have children so he can pass on his legacy. It is very evident at the beginning of the sonnet that this man is very old and possibly close to death, and seems to be reflecting about some events or regrets in his life. To the man in this sonnet his life has been shameful and this is shown in line seven and eight, To say, within thine own deep sunken eyes, Were an all-eating shame, and thriftless praise”. If he does not have children then he has nothing to show of or to prove of the beauty he once had in his youth. In line six which reads Where all the treasure of thy lusty days, How much more praise deserv'd thy beauty's use, If thou couldst answer 'This fair child of mine”. He is saying that what better way to show off his youth’s beauty then by having children so he could answer “This beautiful child of mine”. The overall emotion I think is echoed throughout this sonnet is regret and sadness. I believe Shakespeare was referring to treasure as children, and lusty days as sexual relations. Also in lines nine and ten which read,

William Shakespeare’s Biography

William Shakespeare was baptized on April 26th, 1564 in the church Stratford-upon-Avon in Warwickshire England. William is the third of eight children but was the eldest surviving child of John Shakespeare and Mary Arden. Shakespeare’s exact date of birth was never known, though many people believe he was born on April 23rd, 1564. Everything that is confirmed knowledge about him is only through court and/or church documents. William Shakespeare is said to be the greatest English poet and playwright in the English language. At the age of eighteen Shakespeare married Anne Hathaway who was twenty-six years old on November 17th, 1582. Six months after William and Anne got married Anne gave birth to their first child, a daughter they named Susanna who was baptized on May 26th 1583. Anne and William had two more children almost two years later, fraternal twins Hamnet and their second daughter Judith who were baptized February 2nd, 1585. Hamnet died at the age of eleven from unknown cause and was buried August 11th, 1596.
It was not known when Shakespeare started writing his plays or poems, but they were appearing on the London stage by 1592. By 1594 Shakespeare’s plays were being preformed but only by the Lord Chamberlain’s Men, a company owned by a group of players including Shakespeare himself. This group became the leading playing company in all of London. Due to the success of Shakespeare’s plays he became a wealthy man, buying the second largest house in Stratford in 1597. Some of his plays were published in editions of fours in 1594, and by 1598 Shakespeare’s name became a selling point. Shakespeare’s last three plays were collaboration’s, with who is unknown. He died on April 26th, 1616 and was buried in chancel of Holy Trinity Church two days later.
