John Lennon’s Biography




John Winston Ono Lennon was born October 9th, 1940 in Liverpool England. Lennon was an English musician and singer-songwriter who became known as being one of the founding members of the world famous band The Beatles. Lennon’s first band named The Quarrymen who then evolved into The Beatles in 1960. The Beatles started to fall apart at the end of that decade and Lennon then embarked on a solo career of his own. In those years Lennon produced some of his best known songs titled “Give Peace a Chance” and “Imagine”. Lennon stepped away from the world of music in 1975 to spend more time with his family. Lennon then re-emerged in the music scene in 1980 releasing his new album titled Double Fantasy, but was tragically shot and murdered three weeks later which sadly ended his career abruptly.
Lennon was known widely for his rebellious attitude, his music, his singing abilities and his outrageous interviews. He moved to New York City in 1971 and his songs were anthems to anti-war activists. As a co-writer, writer or performer Lennon is apart of 27 number-one singles on the US 100 chart. Lennon’s songs even today are classic rock and roll hits and he is remember widely for the music he wrote and performed.
