John Lennon Imagine - Analysis

The concept of this song is a very easy one to grasp. The song Imagine is simply about that. Its about Lennons vision of all the world living together as one, and having nothing to fight over because all of humanity would share it. In the first verse Lennon talks about imagining that theres no heaven or hell, and what only exists is just the sky we see. That all the people in the world dont have to worry or stress about what happened yesterday or tomorrow, just whats happening today and right now. In the second verse Lennon again talks about the dream of living together as one, that there is no countries to fight and go to war over. That there is no religion to say is wrong and to try and change, and for everything to be peaceful. In the last verse Lennon imagines the world as having no possessions to again fight over or to keep for ourselves. That there is no hunger and that everyone comes together to help one another, and there is nothing but happiness and sharing. The chorus is the only thing that has some kind of difference or reality to it. In the chorus Lennon is recognizing that he is a dreamer, and that although he may not be the only one its a nice dream to have and a nice hope for the future.
